Eazees International Women's Theater Festival announces the acceptance of applications to participate in its constitutive round to be held from March 23rd to March 29th, 2020.
Eazees is a specialized international festival of women's theater, concerned with contemporary theater performances written or directed by women or whose themes are essentially and clearly related to women's issues and their local or global status. The festival is held annually in the Arab Republic of Egypt and committed to the application of its terms and regulations.
The festival is held under the auspices of the Egyptian Ministry of Culture.

Sections of the Festival
  • Theatrical performances: divided between Shows within the official competition and Shows on the margin of the festival.
  • Workshops, foundational lectures, and intellectual seminars.
  • The issuance of a book about women's theater.
  • Honoring a number of owners of achievement and leadership in the women's theater in the world.


Criteria And Conditions For The Selection Of Theatrical Performances Participating In The Festival
  • The theater show should be positively concerned with women's issues.
  • Participating performances from outside Egypt should not have been previously submitted in Egypt.
  • Theater Shows accepted and coming to the festival, is not allowed to refrain from performing the Show, otherwise, the Troup will not be allowed to participate in any subsequent festival round.
  • Theater show's duration should not be less than 45 minutes and not more than 90 minutes.
  • Each Theater show is obliged upon registration on the festival site to send a link for the show with high quality and a complete file containing: (Press material - high-quality photography - biography of the director and the troupe).
  • The festival accepts all theatrical expressions (Monodrama - kinetic expression… .etc).
  • The participant must abide by the content of the submitted material upon registration. In the case of a material difference in form or content. The festival management has the right to deprive the Show of competing for awards, dealing with the troup and publishing the event in the media.
  • The festival awards in-kind prizes of the statue of the Egyptian goddess Eazees and certificates of appreciation for the best elements of the participating performances (Best Director - Best Actor - Best Actress - Best Scenography).
  • The festival bears the cost of accommodation and subsistence of the participating troupes from outside Egypt in addition to domestic transportations up to a maximum of 12 members of the troup.
  • The festival bears the cost of travel, accommodation and subsistence of its guests from public figures, jury committees and researchers in addition to domestic transportations.
  • The festival will receive the applications for participation from October 6th, 2019 and the deadline for Applying December 6th, 2019 at 5 pm (17:00) Cairo Time.
  • Participating troupes will be notified of their approval by December 31st, 2019.
